Being a bb with the BBB
I do not know if i posted about this before, but if not here is the deal. I have been hearing a strange thumping sound from my car. it only occurs when I'm driving, not when I'm parked. The faster i accelerate the more constant it becomes to the point where it mimics a helicopter propeller.
I took the car the Strauss auto. I had been there once before for tires and they seemed reliable. I own a Saturn, and the closest dealership to go to is 20 miles away. They closed the 2 dealers closest to me in Feb. So to avoid having to go that far i took it o my local shop.
I take it in and they tell me I need new breaks and front tires. $700 worth of work. I called dad to see what he said. He said that sounded right. So I go ahead with the work. 4 HOURS LATER I AM FINALLY GETTING MY CAR BACK. I get in to go and i hear the same exact noise. WTF!!!!!!!! I turn around and go back in. I get the mgr, front desk clerk and mechanic all telling me that the the fixes may or may not have fixed the problem. The mechanic then tells me that it might be one of the bearings on the wheel, but the sound is not pronounced enough yet and to come back in a week. WHATEVER. I pay my bill and leave. I get on the highway to go home and the sound is just and strong as it was 4 hrs ago when i brought the car in.
I tell C about this and he tells me I made my decision a little too quickly and should have spoken to him or gone to another mechanic to get another opinion. I felt like i was taken advantage of, so i contacted the Better Business Bureau to complain. I get a call from Strauss yesterday asking me to come in and talk about how can we resolve this problem. I have the mgr telling me that he wished I didn't contact the BBB. Well I wish you'd fixed my car correctly the first time..is what I wanted to reply, but I didn't.
I couldn't go yesterday because my car was at another mechanics in town getting evaluated. Turns out it was the transmission. Had nothing to do with the breaks or the front tires. Plus the mechanic was nice enough to say that I should check with my dealer to make sure it was under warranty.(which I found out it was).
I'm going to go there today and ask for my money back. The truth is that i did need new breaks soon, but not at that moment. And the fact that I was told that the breaks were the problem really pissed me off. They saw me as an easy target and thought they could get away with it. They thought wrong.
I will let you know what happens.

Car problems
I brought my car in for scheduled maintenance and to ask about my check engine light being on. They asked me to bring the car in the following monday to keep overnight and they'd supply me with a rental. So i bring it in and get a really nice Toyota Rav 4 loaner car.
I get a call the next day.. they have to keep it one more night to try and pinpoint the problem. No problem one more day won't kill me.
I get a call today, the car has to be approved for the work by a corporate rep since I am into my extended warranty. On top of that the repairs still have to be done and can't be done till we get the approval. WTF-now i won't get the car back until next week. UGH....On top of all that I am normally only supposed to get the loaner for 5 days that Saturn covers. They are going to try and get an extension on that but I might end up having to pay for a day or 2...more money I don't have.
At least the car repairs are covered...THANK GOD FOR THAT.
In other news. Work is slow...very slow. No tourist all business people and kids. UGH AGAIN.

Ok now I've seen it all
Now i thought i was the only person remotely interested in the movie Xanadu. For those of you who don't know what it is, Xanadu is a really hokey movie from the 1980s with a horrible story but great music from Olivia Newton John and ELO. While searching youtube out of boredom I came across this...
I see im not the only nut. A FULL FLOOR SHOW!!!!! And this was '06, so its not like this was an old clip, people still love this cult movie.
Now onto important stuff. I got my car back..yeahhhhhhh. Its in full working condition as if nothing ever happened. So I'm happy about that.
Other that nothing new to report.

Garden
So we finally finished the garden. We spent the entire afternoon shoveling 4 1/2 tons of dirt into our garden areas, planting bulbs and putting up a fountain and bird bath. We had to finish yesterday because of the storm coming and all the dirt on our driveway would have been down the drain if we didn't use it all up. We started at 11:30 didn't finish till 7 that evening. But it was well worth it. The garden came out great. Now we just have to wait a few weeks for things to start to grow and see what happens.
No new info on my car. Have to call tomorrow.
My boss finally wants to talk to me about what ive been busting his chops about the past month. I'll let you know how that goes.

Car problems
Well its been almost a month and still no car. I called the mechanics today to get the "By next week" answer that ive been getting the past 4 weeks. He's telling me the parts are on back order and that he can't do anything until he gets the parts from Saturn. I also find out that Geico is only covering the cost of my car until the 19th. That still gives me a week and i am crossing my fingers and praying that I get my car back. If not I'll have to either a) pay for the car on my own (which is $30 a day i dont have) or b) try and borrow a car from a friend..or c) be shit out of luck w/o a car and have C drive me to the bus station. (which i really don't want to do. Pray that they send him the parts soon.
In other news...well..there isn't much other news. C has gone 2 weeks cutting down his zoloft and he has actually been pretty tolerable. :)He seemed a little down the other day..we talked about what was wrong. He said he felt anxious and was having dreams of me cheating on him. But we spoke about it and he convinced himself that it wasnt tru that it was just the meds, or lack of, that was telling him this. Everything went well from there. I will keep you posted.
I am finally going to have a talk with my boss about my new responsiblities that we had our meeting about over a month ago. Hopefully it will be a positive meeting, we shall see. My fear is that if I actually did not catch him on the phone, he would not have called to plan anything. I have to address him about that because it is a little disrespectful i guess. I've called him several times and left emails and nothing. And, like i said, the one time I catch him on the phone and all of the sudden he "...wants to talk to me about it and can I come in early on Monday?..." We'll see. I am actually considering speaking my mind..I just hope it doesnt bite me in the butt.
I will update you on everything as news becomes available.

Zo long to my Zanity
Hello all
C has finally hit an all time low. He went to the doctor a few days back because he wasn't feeling well. The doc told him thathe had sinusitis and had to take these "horse pills". In addition to that C asked about Zoloft. C has been taking Zoloft for the past 6 yrs for his anxiety. In the process hes gained about 40 pounds leading to him feeling depressed. The doctor told him that no matter what he does he will gain wait because the zoloft slows down his metabolism to the point he has almost none. After his appointment he came home even more depressed than normal. He decided to go online and do some research and found a chat blog reguarding this. It seems he isn't the only one who has suffered from this. A lot of people wrote on this blog about how they started taking zoloft and that they gained 10 20 up to 40 pounds because of it. On top of that, Zoloft messed your system so much it could take a long time for it to recover.
Because of ALL THIS, as of yesterday C is going to start weaning himself off of the zoloft. We started by cutting his medication in half (literally). from 100 to 50mg. Hes going to do that for 2 days then take 100mg then another 50 and 50. Slowly decreasing the amount he takes till he stops taking them. He isn't too sure of what affect they will have, but anything has to be better than what he is currently experiencing. I will keep you posted.
In other news..
I still have not heard back on my car. It will probably be ready by the middle of this week. Forutnatly i have Wed and Thurs off and C is off all week. So we can take a ride to SI to pick it up in addition to dropping off my rental.
I can't wait to get my car back and get things back to normal. Although I am liking the rental....esp since im not paying for it. :)
